About

My name is Gabriella Kirikian, and I am from Long Island, New York. I have always had a passion for photography. I recently graduated with a B.A. in Art History and Archaeology at the University of Southern California. I spent a lot of my time at USC working in the archaeology lab on campus where I gained experience creating photogrammetric models of artifacts that can be used as a digital form of cultural heritage preservation.

I developed most of my photography skills while at Millbrook School in Millbrook, New York. There I studied darkroom photography, digital photography, and alternative processes. At Millbrook, I was also chosen to participate in a summer internship program where I had the amazing opportunity to intern at The Gordon Parks Foundation. With help and guidance from my internship mentors, for my final project as a senior, I was able to curate an exhibition of Gordon Parks’ photography called Gordon Parks: The Eye That Feels.

My favorite type of work is definitely in the darkroom! Photography provides me with an outlet to pour every ounce of my creativity into a sole focus. Through every vicissitude of life, photography has been a way for me to escape. From the excitement of developing a new print to the moment of satisfaction when I get to put it in a frame, I love every second of the process. I have most recently started experimenting with printmaking and am having tons of fun finding ways to incorporate my photography into my print work!
