During the fall of 2022, I was assigned a project in my Armenian Heritage class at USC in which we were asked to interview a member (or members) of the Armenian community to fill a gap in the studies of the Armenian experience. For my project, I chose to interview Greg Beylerian with the intention to explore how one’s connection with their Armenian identity develops over time. More specifically, I wanted to see how that relationship can be affected by distance. Creating this piece with Greg was as much an exploration of self-identity as it was an incredible exercise in collaboration.
